George Will, Washington Post writer (Republican)

Because of the Republican Party nomination of Donald J. Trump, George Will announces he is leaving the Republican Party.  He says that Paul Ryan has not repudiated Trump enough.

What are your views and comments? Will this boister Trump (vs ESTABLISHMENT)? Or will it hurt Trump as Hillary Rodham C and her Campaign use it in ads against Trump?  Will it matter in November?  What it won't do is have any effect at the Republican Convention in Cleveland, July 18-21, 2016.

There is a good FoxNews.com write-up. Some reader comments are great, and I'm a FoxNews SuperFan.

In the past I have had a lot of respect for Mr. Will.
Now, I have lost all respect for George.
This single quote sums up everything that is wrong in politics today...
"save their party by not aiding its nominee."
Note that he did not say "save the country" or "save our people".
When the "party" becomes more important than the country and its people it is time for the "party" to go the way of the dinosaurs. And that goes for ANY "party".

@JeffRodgers Well spoken--most inspired. I supposed George Will listened to his home-paper too much, The [very Liberal and Progressive] Washington Post. In the words of Donald J. Trump, "These are evil people, believe me!"

I respect George Will but his Party is no longer winning. We need Trump to swing the boat back on course. Old school Republicans can't do it anymore.

TRUMP REPLIES:

Trump tweeted his reaction to the news Sunday, writing, “George Will, one of the most overrated political pundits (who lost his way long ago), has left the Republican Party. He’s made many bad calls.”
